We have many identifies over a lifetime and ‘The Chief Economist’ is just one of the many roles played by my partner Kim. As you can imagine, this position requires a sense of gravitas and seriousness which is not reflected in the painting. In this painting Kim is still doing an important job, and is not purposely dressed as a Crimson Rosella, but the notion of this, that he could also don this garb, while still being “The Chief Economist” underneath, appealed to me. Benefits of working from home. It is also a well-known fact that neither Kim, or I, like to take ourselves too seriously and this painting is a reminder of that.
